Intended learning outcomes

It is intended to transmit to students’ specific concepts within the scope of railway infrastructure (Conventional and High Speed), aiming at their future integration into the labour market, through the acquisition of specific skills in the following areas:

  1. • Project:
    • Domain of language and terminology associated with railway materials and equipment;
    • Study of track of railway lines;
    • Identify and select the materials suitable for the different types of lines;
    • Understand the interconnection between specialties in the context of sequence of works;
    • Measure and budget rail line projects.
  2. • Construction or Supervision:
    • Correctly interpret the railway line projects;
    • Correctly identify the different materials to be applied, as well as the different equipment to be used;
    • Know the different methodologies to be applied in railway maintenance;
    • Know the safety methodologies associated with the execution of the works.
